BinaryFreedom and the Independent Free Software activist list is a very human based forum where people can come together on common ground to communicate and discuss thoughts on progressive politics regarding any or all of topics like pro Free Software, pro social life style , pro human rights, pro GNU/Linux, pro peace, pro anti-violence, activism, pro arts, pro free music, free thinker philosophy, digital rights, anti software patents, anti DRM and share ideas about how to make humanity a better place in general.
We feel that if you don't agree with most of this topics in some way then you don't belong to this list... sorry, you can find any list that is pro-whatever you agree with in other places around the internet join them and help them with your ideals don't come here to create confusion and FUD, please don't join to troll the list of you will be banned. GNU/Linux is considered the real way to call the GNU system with the Linux Kernel, if you don't agree then same deal, join any pro linux lug, there are many. we are heavy advocates of Free Software as is our main topic and focus.
and example will be to discuss how to make free drivers or to how to promote GNU/Linux and other Free Software in our cities rather than discussing why use Free software.. we already need to have a main focus we can all build from, the rest are just non-useful commentaries about "taste and likes"
When using the BF/IFSA Mailing List, please consider the following terms and
conditions that apply before you post.
1) First and foremost, do not SPAM the list. This kind of behavior is
considered disruptive, and will not be tolerated in any shape or form.
2) We ask that you send your emails in any of your native language but consider
that many people won't understand them I suggest English,German,French or Spanish. Do not flame or harass people who do not speak American English as their native tongue. Corrections in spelling and grammar however, are always welcome for any language. Remember, this list is open to the International Community. Show some respect.
3) Make sure this list is for you. This list is for people who use and advocate Free Software and digital rights, realizing it's potential as a positive and successful social experiment and not just some lame marketing gimmick. If you use Free Software as part of your business, hobby,to be free or other ideals, feel free to post tips and hacks that describe how Free Software helps you get your work done.
4) Be kind when composing. Set your mail client to wrap between 72-80 characters or less.
5) Do not send automated responses to the list such as 'out of office' or 'on vacation'.
6) Try not to send messages in HTML format! We can't read it! Plain text is preferred. we rather a link to the website with the article you think is interesting to our list members, Thank you.
7) Avoid sending large attachments. While we don't mind sharing snapshots of pretty faces and pretty places, our forum is designed with discussion in mind. Post links to images or other attachments. or post them on the website:

8) When replying to messages on the list, don't CC the original poster unless they have specifically stated otherwise.
9) Do not cross post. What you post to this list will make no sense to your regular lug and/or warez lists.
10) In this forum, we believe in Free Speech. If you have to swear or curse on some politician etc, keep it down to one or two words. We're all adults, true, but don't get ridiculous. information about protest and such are welcome since most people in our list have a left political mind in one way or another.
11) Do not flame or troll. This is an International list that promotes the use of Free Software. Debate and discussion are welcome here. Your arrows of fiery death do not belong here, like mentioned above, we have a main focus if you don't have the same views you can't possible help us, don't loose your time or ours.
